Ookii Gekkou is the 2021 release forVanishing Twin, the London-based quartet of Cathy Lucas, Valentina Magaletti, Susumu Mukai, and Phil MFU. Its a superb album that greatly expands on the established Vanishing Twin sound and mixes it with a sense of experimentation.

If youre seeking a dose of danceable, retro futurist fun, Vanishing Twin are a good bet. Ookii Gekkou offers plenty of upbeat, colorful and likeable tunes from space-jazz (“In Cucina”) to disco-dub (“Phase One Million”) and library scat-funk (“Tub Erupt”), the whole thing tied together by Cathy Lucas’s dusky delivery.
